I'm going to start writing as this is my first entry on this Blog and I just wanted to get something down on the page.
This is where I plan to expand a bit on my favourite issues/tweets/trends etc. I'm not going to be a serious Blogger (mainly due to time restrictions) but I thought it's worth a try, and you never know - I might find the time to turn this into something worthwhile, so here it is - The start.
I suppose I'll keep this one general and talk a bit about what's on my mind at the moment. As an Insights Executive, and I guess this is the same across the profession, we are always challenged to find fresh, interesting and relevant ways to present/communicate our findings and/or data. My work is cut out trying to cut back on the dull 'report for report' sake slides - as a team we are keen to make things fresh and punchy - it helps us reduce workload but benefits the business in having much stronger/clearer presentation material. So what am I talking about!?
The wonder that is Infographics or Data Visualisation - I have just ordered some useful books to double my efforts, as over the past few weeks some great infographics have been popping up, really getting me thinking that this is the way we need to go. Why be restricted to the usual corporate tables and charts - Infographics are the way forward.
